On Thursday, June 23, 2016, the American Task Force for Lebanon hosted a reception on Capitol Hill in honor of US Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard. In addition to ATFL's members and esteemed supporters, Congressman Darrell Issa, Congressman Charles Boustany, Congressman Ralph Abraham, Congressman David Price, Congressman Mike Turner, and Ms. Carla Jazzar, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Lebanon in Washington, D.C. were among those who attended. Remarks were made by ATFL Executive Director Leslie Touma, ATFL President and CEO Ed Gabriel, US Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard, and Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Lebanon Carla Jazzar.
On Tuesday, April 12, 2016, the American Task Force for Lebanon (ATFL) hosted its 18th gala awards night at the Fairmont Washington Hotel in Washington, DC. The event honored three remarkable Lebanese-Americans: Paula Faris, co-host of the The View on ABC News; Tony Fadell, founder and CEO of Nest; and, Victoria Reggie Kennedy, senior counsel at Greenberg Traurig LLP and president and co-founder of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.
On January 21, 2016, the American Task Force for Lebanon hosted a farewell reception for Ambassador and Mrs. Antoine Chedid in the Warne Ballroom at the historic Cosmos Club in Washington, DC. Ambassador Chedid served as Lebanon’s ambassador to the United States from 2007 until his recent retirement. He and Mrs. Chedid departed the U.S. on January 26 to make their home in Beirut.
On Thursday, April 16, 2015, the American Task Force for Lebanon (ATFL) hosted its 17th gala awards night at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington. The event honored two outstanding Lebanese-Americans who have made significant contributions in their fields: renowned geneticist Dr. Huda Zoghbi and Pulitzer Prize-winning CNN correspondent Sara Ganim.
